Songs - I'm a Mini Karla

My sisters make fun of me, well... mostly Erica. But I love making up silly songs to sing with the girls. I thought I'd document them, so I never forget. I only wish I could convey the melodies!

This song was to remember, to always put the tag of your clothes in the back.
"Tag in the back, tag in the back.
We always put the tag in the back."

Song sung while on the way to Grandma's house.
"We're going to Grandma's house. Oh yes we are.
We're going to Grandma's house. Oh yes we are.
We're going to Grandma's house, it's true.
Oh Grandma, we love you!"

The I love my girls song.
"I love my baby girls.
I love my baby girls.
Yes, I do.
It is true!"

This song works with either bedtime or naptime. We use it for both.
"Bedtime. Bedtime.
Time for sleep. Time for sleep.
Bedtime. Bedtime.
Time for sleep, go to sleep."

Erica loves this one. It's tub time! This song started when the girls were babies and I was trying to make bathtime go smoothly. I bathed them one at a time and myself sat in the tub. However, I only put water in the baby bath between my legs. It's a silly song and I go really high pitch, but it's one of my favorites.
"We're in the tub. We're in the tub.
We're in the tub, we're in the tub!
We wash our hands. We wash our toes.
We wash our arms, we wash our nose!
We're in the tub!"

I'm pretty sure that is all. I hope you enjoyed them!

A ponytail, some comfy jammies and a glass of wine. Wonderful right? I guess.

I mean, it is! Don't get me wrong.

But no matter how comfy I get or the amount of wine I drink... I cannot shake away my stress and frustrations. The last few months, what was that? I don't think I've been so overwhelmed and I don't know why. Work isn't getting harder. It hasn't changed. At least I don't think it has. I have a lot of projects, but that's nothing new.

So what is it? What is going on in the universe? Does anyone else feel this way?

Maybe I just need some sunshine.

Happy Valentine's Day! I celebrated with my family along with Kalie, Jesse and the boys up in Midway at the Ice Castles. The kids sitter, Gay, gave them tickets for Christmas and after weeks of trying to plan, we finally made it. The kids were excited and they were actually pretty amazing.

Thanks to family and friends that had already been, we were prepared! We wore layers and even the girls snow pants, which I was so thankful for. You see, there was this slide... And at the bottom of that slide, a huge water puddle. I don't know how little Jesse went multiple times, he was soaked.

As soon as we got there we waiting in line to see "Frozen's sister." At least, that is what the girls call her. I haven't seen the movie yet. I know, I need to. I hear it's really cute. And even though I haven't seen it, I can't get that song in my head! I love it! Have you seen this version? Incredible. I want to be her when I grow up. Although, I love the picture below, I think we'll wait awhile before stand in line to see a princess or character until the girls get a bit older. They get so excited. But as soon as they get up there, they froze. No pun intended.

The Ice Castles as a whole, were pretty amazing to see. The tunnels and mazes were fun to experience and in some spots a tight squeeze. But I made it. I think if we decide to make this a yearly tradition, we might spend the day up in Park City and end with Midway. It was hard to drive all the way up there for only a few hours.

After walking around in wet clothes, we decided it was time to eat. I think the kids really needed it. Can we say, whiny? Midway didn't have much and what they had was crazy busy. Obviously. We decided to stop in Park City on the way home and visit one of the last Pizza Hut sit downs (that we are aware of) and enjoy some pizza, wings and that lovely salad bar. But you know what? It was closed!! All that driving into Park City and it was all wasted. At this point, the girls hadn't used the restroom since before we left home and we were all so hungry, we needed a quick fix.

Arby's it is! Quick, easy, cheap and right next to the freeway.

With all that aside, I had a great time. I love spending time with my little family! Experiencing life through the eyes of a 3 year old, I'll never get over it. Hope you all had a great Valentine's Day, whatever you did and whoever you spent it with! Let's remember to love those close to us every day of the year!
